In a week which saw the setting up and speedy closure in Italy of a facebook group which encouraged the derision of children with Down’s Syndrome, a Milan court has found three Google officers guilty of invasion of the privacy of a Down’s Syndrome teenager who was shown being bullied in a 2006 video clip.

Sunday 28th February is “Anti-Smog Day” in Northern Italy, with over 80 towns planning to block non-emergency traffic for the day. Many Italian cities have had anti-pollution days before but this is to be the first time that the effort has been coordinated on such a scale.

I like the idea of doing something different on holiday, and although I’ve never done it, I can think of nothing quite as appealing as the idea of floating silently over Tuscany in a balloon. Unsurprisingly, I am not the first to have thought of this interesting way to see Italy, and on YouTube there are quite a few videos of balloons over Tuscany
